Yakama Tribal Officer Indicted On Federal Charges

A Yakama tribal officer is in trouble Today after being indicted on federal charges of attempted production of child pornography and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. According to an article in the Yakima Herald Republic Lorenzo Mendez is accused of hiding a camera to record the daughter of a friend by placing the camera in a teddy bear in her bedroom. After the camera was discovered and police were called they obtained a search warrant and searched the Mendez home and found 50 grams of meth and 7.5 grams of heroin.
Mendez is set to appear for a court hearing on July 17. His trial is set for August 20.
