Wineries in the Yakima Valley have adapted to the changes because of COVID-19 but they're still making and selling wine. Winemakers are stil busy because wineries are considered an essential business under agriculture however tasting rooms are closed throughout the state. Barb Glover from Wine Yakima Valley says many wineries are providing curbside service for customers who order online or even free delivery to limited areas.
Even though people aren't able to visit tasting rooms Glover says wine sales are still strong online.
Some wineries are even holding weekly online wine tastings featuring wines that are available to customers who can then join others for the tastings online. Glover says wineries are providing a lot of information on their websites to help people get the wine they want free of hassle during the COVID-19 pandemic.
