The Yakima County Commissioners now know how Yakima feels about recreational marijuana sales after voters in the county voted an overwhelming 60% against legalized pot sales in the unincorporated areas of the county in Tuesday's general election. The commissioners have proposed setting aside $100,000 from the county budget to help enforce the ban that's currently in place.

Voters were asked if the current ban on retail sales should continue in the unincorporated areas of the county. 60.57% voted in favor of keeping the ban in place while 39.43% voted against the current ban wanting to legalize sales.
The vote was an advisory vote and commissioners say they still have the final say.
