Cruising Yakima Ave, For Fun, Friends and Food For Hungry Kids
What is it about warm spring and summer nights, rollin' in the car, windows down, music up, best friend on board, and cruising the city center to see and be seen? It's about as Americana as it gets.

Rolling For A Good Cause
Cruising was popular in the 50s and has remained so for more than a half-century ever since. Cars and cruising represent freedom. Freedom to move about, to find the fun, to explore the possibilities, to show off a little, and to appreciate other like-minded individuals' automotive efforts and imagination!
Freedom From Hunger
On Saturday night June 11, 2022, during the first officially authorized cruise night of 2022 on Yakima Avenue, cruising represents freedom from hunger...at least for a little while.
Rod’s House and the Vintiques car club of Yakima are sponsoring the “CRUSIN FOR FOOD” food drive to benefit Rod’s House of Yakima. Rod's House Resource Center is located at 204 S Naches Ave, Yakima, WA 98901
Rod's House Rocks
All donations will be given to Rod’s house, an organization that helps homeless youth in Yakima in a variety of ways including Behavioral Health Services:
Rod’s House offers behavioral health services to youth or young adults (YYA) 13-24, which includes but is not limited to someone experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, mood disorders, or a variety of other emotional barriers or psychological concerns. YYA can choose to access behavioral health services in the form of daily check-ins, individualized therapeutic sessions, or group work. Behavioral health services are available at the Resource Center in Yakima, as well as the Young Adult Emergency Home in Sunnyside. For more information on these services, email monica@rodshouse.org.
Does That Mean We're Now "Classic"
Organized as a non-profit club in 1972, the Vintiques say, "This is our chance for old car enthusiasts to help out those that are less fortunate....Only, "what's an old" car??? Here's the thing...since I first moved to Yakima in the early 80s, the top end for Vintique cars used to be in the late 50s...now it's 1972! How can that be old? (look in the mirror Dave!)
Coffee Cravings - Ground Beans and Ground Zero
The Vintiques ask that you please bring your non-perishable food items and bottled water or donations down to cruise night on Yakima Avenue. They will be set up at Coffee Cravings 118 W. Yakima Ave from 6:00P to 9:00P"
And for the record, the big show and party, the 2022 Vintique Summer Nationals are scheduled in Yakima at the Central Washington State Fairgrounds from August 04, 2022, until August 07, 2022. Drive Safely! (bring some food)
