Unclaimed Remains Laid to Rest by County Coroner

They were remains that no one claimed. Some had no relatives or friends when they  passed away. Whatever the case, last week the Yakima County Coroner’s Office laid to rest 278 unclaimed cremated remains. Curtice says the decedents are Yakima County deaths prior to 01/01/2018.

Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice in a news release says thanks to Shaw and Sons Funeral Home for their donation of the burial plot and Chaplain Susan Whitman and the staff at Tahoma Cemetery. Curtice says "unclaimed cremated remains from 2018 and 2019 are at the Yakima County Coroner’s Office."
