Ukraine Elects A Comedian – Are The U.S. Democrats Next :-) ?

Sadly, a lot of American politics is laughable.  Apparently the good people of the Ukraine have been watching and decided go for a few laughs of their own.

Voters in the  Ukraine have elevated a comedian to the presidency.  The man elected used to play an ordinary guy who actually gets elected president! He also starred in a few romantic comedy movies and he's about to find out if is love affair with the voters will last.

Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky has no political experience but his anti-corruption message apparently resonated with the people giving him a resounding 73 percent of the vote.

Zelensky played the role of  the Ukranian President on TV in a show call  Servant of the People which is the political party created in March 2018 by employees of the television show that Zelensky championed to victory.

As recorded in Wikipedia, his motivation for running wasn't to get the ultimate laugh but to restore trust in politicians, to change the mood and tone of the political establishment and to bring professional, decent people to power.
