Two murders in two days last week. Authorities arrested one person one of the murders. They're still searching for a suspect in another. The latest happened at about 5:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 600 block of East Race Street. Yakima Police officers arrived and found a 25-year-old man dead in a bedroom at the home. The man hasn't been identified. No arrests have been made. An autopsy was performed on Sunday to determine his cause of death.

Last Thursday Yakima County Sheriff's deputies arrested 21-year-old Jesse Lopez-Avalos of Grandview in connection with the death of a man found in a car in near a home in the Sunnyside area. Lopez-Avalos faces a charge of first-degree murder in Yakima County Superior Court this week. He's being held in the Yakima County jail.

Both murders were the first for both the city of Yakima and Yakima County so far this year.
