Two Children Die in Prosser Mobile Home Fire

Authorities in Benton County say two children have died in a mobile home fire reported in Prosser early Thursday. Firefighters were called to the 800 block of Higdon Road just before 6:00 a.m. They say a 10-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl were alone and asleep inside the home when the fire started. The kids were home alone after their parents left earlier Thursday morning for work. Officials say they died at a Prosser hospital.
Fire investigators say the fire, which started on the porch was caused by an electrical problem a the home.
