Two Alarm Fire West of Yakima on Ahtanum?

Where there is smoke...but where is the smoke?  A TownSquare media employee was headed West on Ahtanum when he spotted the smoke and a responding fire truck and he paused to take this picture. . No answer or info from the Yakima Fire Department which has jurisdiction, according to folks at the West Valley Station.

The guy there at dispatch was helpful but short on details too.  He said the area was in what was formerly Union Gap's jurisdiction but that Yakima covers it now.    A mutual aid agreement between Yakima and West valley meant West Valley automatically responded and West Valley sent two brush trucks and a water truck to what he said was a second alarm fire.

Given the pressing need to send people to the scene and limited communication leads to no available details aren't available at this time.  But somebody is fighting some kind of fire somewhere in West valley.  You now know what we know!  Tune in tomorrow for updates on NewsTalk 1280 KIT.
