Traffic in the area of 40th Avenue and Tieton Drive will be interrupted much of the day on Thursday, Dec. 6th while a replacement traffic signal pole is installed and activated. Crews from Knobles Electric, Inc., a contractor for the City of Yakima, will be removing the existing pole that is located on the northwest corner of the 40th Ave. and Tieton Drive intersection, replacing it with a new pole, and then activating the new pole.

It is likely that traffic at the intersection will experience intermittent interruptions while the work is in progress. Knobles crews are expected to begin the project by 7:30 a.m. and should be done by about 5:00 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes until the traffic signal pole replacement project is completed. As always, the schedule for street and traffic projects is subject to change daily, dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
