GET THAT STUFF FIXED SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO THROW IT AWAY

Mary Jepsen, a member of the Repair Cafe planning committee says "bringing in your broken lamp, toaster or weed whacker will not only keep our landfill from filling up so quickly, but will save the owner money. We've become a throw away society. Repair Cafe wants to change that."

DON'T FORGET REPLACEMENT PARTS

Along with your broken items you're encouraged to bring along replacement parts. Jepsen says if they can't fix your item they'll help locate the needed part or recommend a local repair shop. This idea isn't new Jepsen says it's part of the Repair Cafe International Foundation started in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 2009.
