A teenager died after being pinned under a vehicle on a forest service road on Friday. Naches Fire officials were called to Forest Service Road 850 near Rimrock Lake at about 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. When they arrived they found the male teen pinned under a 1993 Chevy Tahoe. He was dead when they arrived. A press release from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office says the investigation found a 19-year-old female was driving with four passengers on a narrow dirt road when the driver lost control on a turn and rolled the vehicle. The teen in the front passenger seat was ejected. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pinned under the vehicle where he died. He has not been identified.
There was no evidence that the driver was impaired. Sheriff's officials say "this goes to show that seatbelts need to be worn all of the time, even when traveling off road. "
