Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sex With Student

BOTHELL (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 25-year-old teacher at a high school in suburban Seattle for allegedly having sex with one of her male students.

KOMO-TV reports the woman was arrested Wednesday after detectives served a search warrant at a Bothell residence.

The teacher, who has not yet been identified, was booked into jail for investigation of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says the student at Lynnwood High School was 16 at the time of the alleged crimes.

The sheriff's office says detectives have found evidence that the teacher and student developed a relationship which became sexual.

The teacher has been placed on leave by the school district.
