Along with all the people displaced by the fire, hundreds if not thousands of animals have also been left homeless, including hundreds of pets. Marian Flory with Yakima Valley Pet Rescue says they're looking for foster homes, as people staying at shelters aren't allowed to keep pets. Flores says Yakima Valley Pet Rescue is also looking for donations for the livestock being housed at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds. Flory says more than 400 animals are being cared for at the fairgrounds.

Flory says they're looking for stuff like hay, halters and lead ropes, for example. Donors can take those items directly to the Kittitas County Fairgrounds in Ellensburg. Those interested in fostering a pet can contact the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue message line at 248-3113 or visit the web page yvpr.org.
