Justices with the Washington State Supreme Court have approved an effort to remove Yakima County Clerk Janelle Riddle from office. Riddle had appealed a lower court ruling before appealing to the state court. However the recall effort was dropped recently by Yakima Business Times Publisher Bruce Smith. He's hoping voters now get the message sent by the court about Riddle's job performance.
Riddle is accused not doing her job. Riddle was accused of not making sure restraining orders and child support were sent to specific agencies in the state. She says the problem was the adoption of new software. But in the ruling the justices say other counties had no problems implementing the new software system.
