The Yakima Health District has partnered with the Washington State Department of Health to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Yakima County. Specifically they're trying to improve infection control practices across the region. Earlier this month the Department deployed 8 members of the Department of Health and the CDC to the Yakima area. A news release says the county has multiple outbreaks at long term care facilities, including nursing homes and adult family homes. The infection teams are working with the facilities to arrange testing, cohort patients and provide guidance to these facilities.

"The team is currently working with multiple state agencies to put together a comprehensive guidance document for farm workers. The team also met with both hospital systems to see where they could offer support.

DOH has established a call center to address questions from the public. If you have questions about what is happening in Washington state regarding COVID-19, please call 1-800-525-0127 and press*. "
