Thousands of toys were given to kids over the recent Christmas holiday thanks to your donations to the Toys For Tots program by the U.S. Marines and The Salvation Army in Yakima. Lisa Sargent the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Salvation Army says toys donated were picked up starting on December 15 for distribution on December 22. But Sargent says some people were donating toys until Christmas Eve. Those toys will be stored and be a part of next year's Toys For Tots program.
Sargent says Wrays Market at 56th and Summitview collects toys, food and winter coats all year for the Salvation Army and other service organizations. You can give at any time. The bins at the store are located in the front entrance.
