Union Gap Police say a man who was detained at Macy's department store for shoplifting on Tuesday pulled out a gun and tried to kidnap an employee before fleeing the store in a stolen car. Police say it happened at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday after the man was taken into the security office. Police say after pulling the gun and attempting to kidnap an employee he climbed into a reported stolen white Toyota Camry driven by a woman and took off. A short time later police spotted and tried to stop the vehicle but the suspects fled. The suspect vehicle was last seen in the area of South 1st Street and Mead Avenue.
