Firefighters say a resident illegally burning tree clippings sparked a brush fire in the Selah area Saturday afternoon. It happened just after 12 p.m. on north Wenas Road. The fire scorched just under an acre of land and came within feet of an RV and a nearby home.  Crews put out that fire quickly. There was no damage to the nearby home or RV.  Rescuers say the owner of the home was burning tree clippings. As a result, he was given a warning for violating a county wide burn-ban.
