Sealcoating Wednesday On 48th Avenue

TRAFFIC ALERT. Drivers need to know a sealcoating project will impact traffic on a portion of 48^th Avenue for part of the day on Wednesday, August 15^th.

City of Yakima crews will be sealcoating the section of 48^th Avenue between Summitview Avenue and Tieton Drive from 10:00 a.m. until about 12:00 p.m. on August 15^th.  As a result, that section of 38^th Avenue will be closed to all traffic while the project is underway.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the project area if possible.  If drivers must travel near the area where sealcoating is taking place. Flaggers will be on site.

While the work is underway, a 20-mile-per-hour speed limit will be strictly enforced in the project area.  Access to homes on the section of 48^th Avenue being sealcoated may be restricted for short durations while the work is being done.
