Seahawks Sign CWU Receiver

Justin Helwege, Central's leading receiver last season, signed a deal with the Seahawks today.

After a tryout during the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp, the team announced the signing of former Central Washington University wide receiver Justin Helwege. The 6-foot-6, 217-pound Helwege led the Wildcats with 51 receptions for 717 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

Helwege attended Eastlake High School in Samamish, and played in this year's Casino Del Sol All-Star Game in Tucson, Arizona. He was one of just four players from a NCAA Division II institution selected to compete in the game.

The Seahawks are currently conducting an organized team activity session at their Renton facillity.
