Seahawks Could Be In Trouble With NFL

The Seahawks may have violated the collective bargaining agreement with Wednesday's practice.

In a release from the league office yesterday, the NFL said that by working in full pads on Wednesday during Terrell Owens’ first practice, the Seahawks have violated the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement.

The team said it unintentionally committed the violation, and that Owens should have been in a shell rather than shoulder pads.

It is unclear if the team faces any penalty for the action because the league office is gathering facts.

The CBA that ended last year’s 136-day lockout states that players have a three-day acclimation period during the preseason after signing: “Day 1 is for the physical and meetings. Day 2 and 3 the player may participate, but only in helmet and shells or a padded shirt. Day 4 and for the rest of camp is in full pads.”

The Seahawks will take on the Tennessee Titans tomorrow on AM 1280 and FM 99.3 Newstalk KIT, with the pregame broadcast starting at 5PM.
