BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — Still waiting to find out what caused Scott Weiland (WY'-land) to die last night. His Facebook page says the former frontman for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver died in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota. The coroner's office has confirmed the death — but didn't cite a cause. Weiland had a series of substance abuse problems throughout his career. As people reacted online to the news of his death, many expressed sadness that he is gone — but added that given Weiland's history, they were surprised he had lived as long as he did. Scott Weiland was 48.
