Road Work On Washington Avenue Could Impact Your Commute
Your commute may be impacted by water main repairs Thursday and Friday on Washington Avenue between 24th Avenue and 16th Avenue. Work on the project will begin at 7:00 am and last until 3:30 pm each day. A news release from the city of Yakima gives details.
"Traffic will be limited to one lane in both directions in the project area. Because of heavy traffic volumes on Washington Avenue, drivers can expect delays. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.
The repairs may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 575-6005 for more information."
Work on a concrete median will result in traffic being impacted on a section of 40th Avenue and a section of Powerhouse Road on Friday, February 22nd from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Traffic on 40th Avenue near Powerhouse Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction while the project is underway. The inside lanes of 40th Avenue in the area of Powerhouse Road will be closed while crews are working on the concrete median.
The section of Powerhouse Road between 40th Avenue and Castlevale Road will also be closed from 9:00 am on February 22nd until the project is completed.
