The atmospheric river moving through the region this week has brought heavy rainfall across the state, causing rivers and creeks to swell and approach flood stage. Naches Fire was alerted this morning to high water and logs pushing against the bridge going into the Wonderland Campground along US HWY 12.

STOP. DON'T DRIVE IN THE WATER

They say remember if you see standing water, turn around do not drive through it.
They say Nile Road is closed at the Rattlesnake Bridge; floodwaters damaged the bridge, causing the bridge to drop on one side. Just this morning Firefighters responded to a car that hit the collapsed section of the bridge. No injuries, however the bridge is closed and unsafe for travel at this time.

SOME SMART RECOMMENDATIONS:

Moving vehicles, equipment, and valuables out of basements or low-lying areas.
Staying away from fast-moving, cold water at rivers and creeks — it’s extremely dangerous.
Keeping children and pets away from riverbanks.
Planning alternate travel routes, as roads near the Naches River and other waterways may be impacted if water levels continue to rise.
If residents observe rapidly rising water, road washouts, or other hazards, they should call 911 for emergencies or use their local non-emergency number for less urgent issues.
