Ringing in the New Year with New State Taxes?

Be prepared for new state taxes in the New Year. That's the prediciton from 15th District State Representative Bruce Chandler of Granger. He says all the cuts in the budget from health care to education will make the governor's half cent sales tax increase attractive way for voters to buy back some state services. Chandler says it remains to be seen if state residents will support tax increases to fill big budget gaps in 2012. Lawmakers head back to Olympia on January 9th.
