When the Yakima city council meets on Tuesday it'll be talking about raising your vehicle license tabs by $19 to pay for city street and sidewalk improvements. The council has voted on the issue 2 times in the past and both votes failed. But Yakima Mayor Kathy Coffey says she believes the issue will pass on Tuesday.

Meanwhile the council will also talk, again about a police policy that would bar officers from asking about a person's immigration status. The 4-3 vote last month to start the discussion again on Tuesday was a result of a threat of a lawsuit by Columbia Legal Services after the council ended the discussion in April. The local non-profit legal firm says the council failed to tell people about a vote in April that ended the discussion. The group says the lawsuit will be dropped if the discussion starts again.
