SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins will announce the results of an investigation into assaults that occurred at a party on July 23 involving members of the Washington State football team.

Jenkins will announce the findings this afternoon in Pullman.

Washington State Athletic Director Bill Moos will join Jenkins to make a statement.

The Spokesman-Review is reporting that starting defensive tackle Robert Barber has been expelled from school following a University Conduct Board investigation into the fight. Barber will continue to practice while appealing the expulsion.

The fight involved dozens of students and left one student unconscious and another hospitalized with a fractured jaw.

Football coach Mike Leach this week complained that Pullman police seemed to be focusing on football players in three recent incidents that led to assault investigations.
