Plan To Spend Your Thursday Evening On North Front Street For Downtown Summer Nights
The Common Deer will be headlining the entertainment on the Legends Casino and Hotel stage this Thursday night on historic North Front Street in Yakima for another installment of Downtown Summer Nights, powered by Stewart Subaru.
Thursday's opening act will start at 6 p.m. with Dodgy Mountain Men mixing the rhythms of bluegrass, the soul of the blues and the energy of rock ‘n’ roll with a plethora of other musical traditions to create a unique electro-acoustic experience.
The Common Deer play from 7:30-9, offering the lyrics of Ty Paxton and his cousin and mandolin/guitar player, Jared Hunt, plus classically trained cellist Dannel Fischer. The percussion of Joe Catron backs up the sound and the addition of Kyle Smeback in 2016 takes the band to new levels. The band blends cello, mandolin, guitar, banjo, harmonica, hand percussion, and vocal harmonies to make some great music.
The free (and pet-friendly!) Downtown Summer Nights concert series is presented by Stewart Subaru and Downtown Association of Yakima on North Front Street between Yakima Avenue and Staff Sgt. Pendleton Way. Chinook Fest powers the music, while Legends Casino Hotel sponsors the stage.
While the music plays, enjoy a number of food options as well as a beer and wine garden.
