Leave early? Stay late? What's your strategy for driving on the Fourth of July holiday to bypass the traffic jams?  And there's a pretty good chance there WILL be traffic jams because this is expected to be a record-setter for travel!

USA Today reports that the AAA auto clubs estimate of an additional 1.9 million Americans to travel between Wednesday (July 3) and Sunday (July 7) compared to last year.
So when NOT to drive?  The pros say the worst time to travel is Wednesday (July 3) between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., local time.
Over 40 million of us will travel by car -- and the  AAA predicts the family car will be the most popular form of transportation and at a record high number since when the group first began tracking holiday travel in 2000.
So maybe stick around the Valley.  Take in the celebration at the fairgrounds, check out a Pippens baseball game or the 85th annual rodeo in Toppenish.  Whatever you do, have fun and be safe. (And yes it IS possible to do both at once!)
