Officers Fire On Suspect After Chase Ends In Yakima

No officers were injured after a vehicle chase and shooting in Yakima last night. Authorities say a chase of the suspect vehicle started in Toppenish and ended in Yakima at the intersection of 4th Street and East E Street. Lt. Mike Merryman says that's when the suspect started firing multiple shots at officers with an AR-15 rifle. The officers fired back. No officers were hit but the suspect was struck multiple times and was taken to a Yakima hospital where he was being treated last night. Police say the man was driving a stolen vehicle. An investigation continues today. The shooting was reported at about 9;30 last night
