No decision from the Yakima City Council on Tuesday on expanding the areas where recreational marijuana can be sold within city limits. The council Tuesday reviewed a decision by the Yakima Planning Commission to deny a request to allow retail marijuana sales in the light industrial zones in the city. The owner of the Slow Burn store in Union Gap wants to open a store on Third Street in the former location of Max's Tavern. The council on Tuesday didn't address the topic and dismissed the issue without comment.
The council also decided to send a letter to congressional members in support for the the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA program.
