New Basketball League Coming To Yakima — New Team’s Name is Sun Kings

A new basketball league is coming to Yakima. The North American Premier Basketball League Today is announcing the new league founded by the former Commissioner of the NBL of Canada & KU player David Magley and the owner PBL, Dr. Sev Hrywnak. Team officials say the new team will be named Sun Kings. They say the league's emphasis on "community impact" will have its players active in local schools with messages of self worth, anti-bullying, the dangers of drugs and the importance of school. The team is also expected to host multiple school day games for junior high students that focus on self-worth and anti-bullying. The team plays to play in the Yakima Sundome.
