Yakima Police say a mother who prostituted her daughter for drug money is set to go to prison next month.

THE MOTHER RECENTLY PLEAD GUILTY TO CHARGES

The mother of a juvenile female who police say encouraged her daughter to engage in sex with multiple men in exchange for drugs and money plead guilty to two counts of promoting commercial sex abuse of a minor, and one count each of commercial sex abuse of a minor and distribution of a controlled substance to a minor. An article in Today's Yakima Herald Republic says sentencing is set for November 17. She could be sentenced to more than 16-years in prison.

POLICE ARRESTED THE MOTHER IN JUNE OF 2020

The initial charges against 43-year-old Jennifer Stafford included commercial sex abuse of a minor and possession of narcotics. Stafford has been held in the Yakima County jail since her arrest in June of 2020. Yakima Police Capt. Jay Seely says during the investigation they found people who had paid Stafford to have sex with her daughter.

10 MEN WERE ARRESTED ONE HAS BEEN SENTENCED

10 men were arrested ranging in age from 21-years-old to 77-years-old. Eight of the suspects cases are set for trials. One man has been sentenced to 4-years in prison while an arrest warrant has been issued for another man. All the men face numerous charges including Commercial Sex Abuse of a Minor and Rape of Child. All the suspects were from Yakima County including Stafford who is being held in the Yakima County jail.
