Feeling The Pressure Of Valentine's Weekend

What's it gonna be, whatcha gonna do? Lookin' for some ideas?

Livability has some and we are prepared to share!.

The Livability peeps get it.  They aren't talking about a high-priced restaurant or an overpriced hotel.  They know the best Valentine's gifts are experiences and adventures that couples can share together and make their own memories as a result.

So here are the "Most Romantic Cities" in each of the states of the Pacific Northwest for your carnal consideration.

Idaho's Most Romantic City

In alphabetical order, we start with the Most Romantic City in the state of Idaho. It's a town with a name that sounds kinda like what every woman wants to do to her reluctant Valentine.  Catch Him!

"Catch Him" ...shortened to "Catch 'em"... rearranged as "Ketchum".  Eight hours south of Pullman, or about 150 miles east of Boise, Ketchum’s slogan is “Small Town, Big Life.”

Art museums, shopping, fine dining, it’s got everything you’d expect from a lovers’ getaway. But it does boast one thing quite special and unique — a Dark Sky Reserve.  It’s like a nature reserve, but for the stars! That means that Ketchum is part of Idaho’s fight to preserve the clarity of the night, minimize light pollution, and keep stars shining. So, what’s more romantic than sitting out after a full day of exploring and eating and gazing upon a sky bursting with stars?

Where Love Blooms Best In Oregon

Oregon is next and can you guess?  Did you guess, Salem? (the witch-burning thing makes for dramatic history but that's the other Salem, the one in Massachusetts!)  Do you think you'd find Oregon's capital city to be "Romantic?"

Livability says while Portland may be the most well-known city in this lush green state, you shouldn’t sleep on Salem...and here's why.

It’s got plenty for you and your partner to explore. Not only is Oregon an outdoorsy state but it’s got a wonderful food and craft brewery scene as well as a thriving artistic culture. And Salem’s downtown district is big enough for two people to spend a weekend exploring — it’s a whole seven-block radius, unlike many cities’ single-block, single-street historic districts. Loads of eateries, pubs, and theaters to cozy up in and flirt the night away.

I'm not so sure I would find a liberal enclave encrusted with uber-liberal politicians as a romantic destination but we'll reserve judgment and see what else the website has to offer.

When Love Is So Nice You Whisper It Twice

Washington State, you're up, you're up. (That's a hint, hint)

The evergreen state's most romantic spot is Walla Walla!

Walla Walla is an excellent spot for classy foodies and wine connoisseurs. Home to wineries sprawled across rolling hills and a stunning downtown area, the only challenge will be to choose which restaurants to eat at during your stay. My suggestion would be to extend the stay and try everything. Cozy up in as many fine eateries as you can, sample as much of the wine as you can, live and let live! This place is one of those places you never want to leave once you get good and settled.

So there you have it, Ketchum, Salem, and Walla Walla.  They are three of the most romantic cities in America.  Once you get there, it's up to you to make that beautiful Valentine/s music together!
