MLK Marches Planned In Yakima And Toppenish Monday

Monday is a national holiday to recognize the accomplishments of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King Jr. All local, state and federal offices are closed Monday including the post office, banks and area schools. The annual MLK Day marches are planned in Yakima and Toppenish. In Yakima the march starts at Noon at 5th Avenue and MLK Blvd. The march ends at the Yakima Convention Center where you can enjoy a community program at 1:00 p.m.
A march is also planned in Toppenish. It starts at 10:30 a.m. in the O’Reilly Auto Parts and Dollar Tree parking lot and ends at the Toppenish Middle School where a program including speakers and performances is planned.
