Missing Woman Found Dead Near Mabton

A woman reported missing by her family last Thursday was found dead near Mabton Sunday after authorities spotted her body on Township Road 5 miles South of Mabton. 87-year-old Mary Shattuck was last seen last Thursday at her doctors office in Toppenish. Police in Toppenish say Shattuck drove her vehicle off the road and tried to walk out the area but died of exposure to cold weather conditions. No foul play is suspected.
