It happens just about every time the month of March rolls around and everyone wearing shorts in the early spring are surprised. Snow. The flakes are big but they don't last long because of the warming temperatures. Officials at the National Weather Service office in Pendleton, Oregon say even though it's spring wet weather systems still move through the state and when they hit cooler temperatures, especially on the East side of the state the result is spring snow. Traditionally many ski areas in the state experience significant snow fall in the spring. If you're driving make sure you check those pass reports.

Officials at The Sporthaus in Yakima say people are excited about spring skiing and riding at the White Pass resort.
