Man Shot In Face After Drive By Shooting In Toppenish
A 24-year-old man is recovering at Seattle's Harborview Medical Center Today after being shot in the face in a drive by shooting in Toppenish Saturday night. Yakima County Sheriff's deputies say the man was walking with a relative and waiting at a crosswalk at Fort Road and U.S. Highway 97 at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday when a car drove by and someone in the passenger seat yelled some words pulled out a handgun and fired shots. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Authorities describe the suspect vehicle as a silver 1990's or early 2000's Honda Accord or Acura sedan. The shooting was reported at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday night. A news release from the Yakima County Sheriff's office says The victim did not know the suspects and claims no gang involvement. The victim did not have any gang involvement that local authorities are aware of.
