Honesty is the best policy, right? Right?

A 28-year-old New York City man named Reilly Flaherty who lost his wallet while attending a concert earlier this month was stunned some of the items inside were mailed back to him, minus the money, along with a priceless explanation why the person kept the cash.

Flaherty told the New York Daily News, "I feel like there’s a lot of people here who try to do the right thing, try to be good people. But there’s that grind of New York where everyone at the end of the day is kind of looking out what’s best for them."

Flaherty, who had had about $100 in the wallet when it went missing, canceled his credit cards, so getting it back without any of the cash didn't exactly do a ton of good -- much like the person who returned it.

As for who the mystery person who took the time to keep the money, but return the wallet itself, Flaherty sums him up by saying, "This guy’s a pot-smoking modern day Robin Hood who knows where I live and knows that I’m an organ donor. I appreciate the sense of humor, but he’s also a [bleep]."
