Man Arrested After Missing Girl Found In His Car

Yakima Police arrested a 40-year-old man on Friday who they say may have had something to do with the recent disappearance of a girl from a group home. The 16-year-old girl was found with the man on Friday. Police say they arrested Miguel Mejia as he was getting out of his car in the 600 block of South fifth Avenue. The teen was in his car. She was reported missing on August 7. U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force press release says Mejia ran but was arrested after a foot chase. He was booked into the Yakima County jail.
