
Award-Winning Photojournalist Lynsey Addario in Yakima: Enter to Win Reserved Seats
Another wonderful speaker is coming to the Yakima Town Hall Series at the Capitol Theatre.
On Wednesday, October 23rd, we welcome Lynsey Addario to the stage!
Lynsey is an accomplished photojournalist, and she will be sharing with us some inspirational stories that she has covered during her illustrious career.
Addario is well known around the globe for her photography that highlights world conflict, humanitarian crises, and women’s issues around the Middle East and Africa.
She has taken pictures for New York Times and National Geographic for over twenty years. Lynsey won a Pulitzer Prize a few years ago, and she became a best-selling author for her memoir, It's What I Do: A Photographer's Life of Love and War.
Lynsey has been a featured speaker at summits like the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit and Women in the World Summit.
In 2022, Addario won the Lucie Impact Award for her coverage in Ukraine, and the image of a family killed while fleeing. Her piece was titled, “A Ukrainian Family Killed While Fleeing” for the New York Times.

Addario will share stories about what it's like on the ground photographing dire real-life circumstances in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Darfur, South Sudan, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yemen, Syria, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Her speaking engagement will begin at 11:00 at the Capitol Theatre (19 S 3rd St).
