Lawsuit Settlements Approved by Yakima County Commissioners

3 important lawsuit settlements were approved by the Yakima County Commissioners Tuesday for a total of 252 thousand dollars. The largest involved the alleged wrongful arrest of a Wapato teen who's family filed a 3 million dollar claim against the county. The county settled the case for 152 thousand dollars. Another settlement involved a woman who committed suicide at the county jail. The woman's family sued the county and settled for 30 thousand dollars. Another involved an assault of a man at the county jail. The man died as a result of the assault and the family filed claim. The settlement approved Tuesday was for 60 thousand dollars.
