My love affair with Star Wars began when my dad saw it back in 1977. I was only 3 at the time, so don't expect me to say things like, "Oooh, I remember it was such a cool movie...all the light sabers and Princess Leia's cute little hair buns...

Nope, that's not going to be my tale. All I remember is Princess Leia's hair buns were "space buns" and they reminded me of cinnamon rolls. Java the Hut scared the crap out of me as a child, too.

I felt so sad when Han Solo got frozen in liquid silver (at least that's what I thought it was). And when Luke discovered that evil Darth Vader was his DAD *spoiler alert**, I was so stunned, weren't you?

Showtime is Saturday, October 12th at 7:30 p.m. I happen to know from experience that when they say 7:30, they mean 7:30, so don't be late! Find yourself a parking spot early because Saturday night in downtown Yakima gets hopping!

Better yet, get there when the doors open at 6:15 so that you can hear the ConcerTalk at 6:25 p.m.!

"Gustav Holst’s thrilling classic is paired with John Williams’ memorable theme from Star Wars, along with music by Arturo Márquez and Francis Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra."
