Members of the Yakima Valley Quilters Guild are gearing up for another treasure sale for Yakima area bargain hunters searching for fabrics.

The Treasure Trunk Sale Is Coming: Mark Your Calendars

JoAnn's is still gone. Too soon, I know, but if you're a crafter like me, listen up buttercup, because there's a fabric sale fundraiser coming soon. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 12th. This sale brings in visitors from all over the Valley.

The Guild is using the proceeds to help finance rental space for their bi-monthly meetings at the Harman Senior Center. Meetings are open to the public with admission fee, or you could just give in and join the guild like I did a couple of years ago.

You've Seen These Guild Members Before

If you were lucky enough to go to the Quilt Show last month (May), you'll probably recognize a few familiar faces at the Treasure Trunk Sale. Volunteers from the guild help run the sale, from securing donated fabrics, notions, and crafting tools from members to setting up tables full of treasure finds, pricing items for the sale, and taking your money at checkout.

I love learning how to quilt, so much so that when I was asked to volunteer as the guild's secretary position on the board, I couldn't say no. I love that the mission of the guild helps educate newbies like me who realize that quilting is an art form (and a form of therapy, too)!
