It’s Kids Fish In and Earth Day at the Yakima Greenway Saturday
It's time to go fishing and learn about the earth.
The Yakima Kids Fish In at Sarg Hubbard Park is set for Saturday, April 20.
THIS YEAR TWO EVENTS AT ONE SPOT
The event held each year at the park's reflection pond is hugely popular and fills up fast. This year the Fish In is partnering with Earth Day Yakima for a big event. So you and your kids can be involved in the Fish In and then enjoy the Earth Day festival at the park which will include vendors and food trucks and lots of places to learn how to care for the earth.
The Kids Fish In is set for 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
LOTS OF HELP FOR YOU AND YOUR KIDS AT THE FISH IN
Greenway Executive Director Kellie Connaughton says "we have dedicated partners from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Yakima Fly Fishers Association Trout Unlimited and Yakima River Angler that support, teach and make fishing a fun and rewarding experience for all the kids.”
The cost for the Fish In is $12 and includes a rod and reel bait and the chance to catch two fish.
THE EARTH DAY EVENT IS FREE
Registration forms are available at the Yakima Greenway office or at the yakima greenway website at yakimagreenway.org. The Earth Day Event happens from 9:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Earth Day Event will feature exhibits, art and activities designed to educate and engage visitors about how individuals, families, and businesses can contribute to protecting the Earth.
