The 66thAnnual 4-H Leader’s Recognition Luncheon, which recognizes Yakima County 4-H leaders and members for their outstanding accomplishments during the past year, will be held October 27, 2012 at noon at the Buena Grange.  A 4-H Leaders meeting will precede the luncheon at 10:00 am.  If you are interested in becoming a leader or wish to volunteer, you are welcome to attend this meeting.  This year the 4-H luncheon is supported by Pacific Power, the Buena Grange, and WSU Yakima County Extension.

Every year Yakima County 4-H leaders select teen youth from our county for the “I Dare You” Leadership Award.  These teen leaders are individuals who are actively engaged in bettering the communities in which they live.

The community service trophies that will be awarded are the Lew Evans Memorial Trophy for outstanding community service and the Inez Walter Perpetual Traveling Trophy for outstanding community service by a 4-H horse club.

Other awards include Toppenish Rotary Trophies, Clover Leaf Awards, the Dennis West Memorial Livestock and Horse Judging winners, the Yakima County Leader of the Year, Public Presentation Trophies, and Certificates of Appreciation.

The 2012-2013 Yakima County 4-H Leader’s Council Officers are elected at the 10:00 am meeting before the luncheon.  Please contact the Yakima County Extension office at 509-574-1600 if you would like to attend.
