Next week the Yakima Valley Libraries joins over a thousand libraries around the world in celebrating the power of games and play during International Games Week.

In a press release the local Library folks say "Libraries are an ideal venue to explore the many benefits of games, which help players build skills like problem-solving, teamwork, spacial reasoning, social interaction and more—all while having fun!"

Library locations throughout the Yakima Valley will offer a variety of gaming programs and events for the whole family, where participants can play board games, card games, computer games, or try their hand at print-and-play games --  activities and games available at each community library will vary; instructions and staff tutorials will be provided.
