Hit and Run Suspect Turns Himself into Authorities
Washington State Patrol troopers say the man who struck a a firefighter in the lower valley on Sunday and fled the scene of the crash has turned himself into authorities.
40-year-old Hilario Riozaltamirano is being held in the Yakima County jail. He could face charges of vehicular assault and hit and run.
62-year-old firefighter Terry Carter of Granger was struck while he was working on a crash along I-82 on Sunday. The suspect vehicle stopped briefly then fled the area. Carter was taken to a Yakima hospital with injuries.
