It was inevitable.  A sure sign of Spring. Beginning Monday, March 2nd Yard waste collection resumes in the City of Yakima..

A news release from the City of Yakima says the refuse division will provide weekly yard waste pick-up from March 2nd through November 30th.

Customers are reminded to put their green yard waste carts next to the curb , 4 feet from any 6:00 a.m. on the day of service.

There is a charge for the service, which is limited to a 150 pounds of collected grass clippings, leaves, and small branches. Branches should be cut into lengths of 3 feet or less and not exceed 3 inches in diameter. All yard waste must fit inside the cart with the lid closed.

Not everything that shows up in your yard is acceptable with garbage, plastic bags, food scraps, animal waste, ashes, sod, building materials, and tree trunks not allowed.
